Eendracht Maakt Macht

Strength Through Unity. PSV sit top of the Eredivisie 4 points clear of challengers Ajax. Their form in the UEFA Champions League has seen them all but secure qualification. Currently 19th in the table with 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 loses the Rood-Witten are not yet qualified, however look set for the play-off round due to multiple teams below them facing off against each-other. PSV are unbeaten at home so far in the competition, their most notable victory at Phillips Stadion being late comeback against Shakhtar Donetsk to win 3-2.

PSV have scored 65 goals in the Eredivise this season in comparison to Liverpool’s 54 in the Premier League. Ricardo Pepi, Luuk De Jong, Malik Tillman and Guus Til are all in double figures with a combined 50 goals between them.

Familiar Foes

Arne Slot has faced PSV manager Peter Bosz on 4 occasions only winning once. However, that one victory for Slot did come in their most recent meeting. Slots Feyenoord were 1-0 victors over PSV in the round of 16 of the KNVB Cup last season.

This fixture will be the 7th meeting between the sides, PSV have never won in this fixture. Surprisingly, Liverpool faced PSV 4 times in the 2006-2007 season on the road to Athens after being drawn in the same group and meeting again in the Quarter-Finals. Last time the two sides met at the Phillips Stadion was also the final group game of the 2008-2009 season. Liverpool won 1-3 with goals from Ryan Babel, Albert Riera and David Ngog.

Team News

Peter Bosz’s team will be without Jerdy Schouten joins Sergino Dest, Couhaib Driouech and marksman Malick Tillman due to injury. However Eindhoven fans will be hoping to welcome back Noa Lang who’s been out with an illness.
