Ki Jana Hoever is a Dutch, 16 year old full back with the ability to also play as a centre half. The youngster played for Ajax in the Eredivisie and played a total of 13 games for the u17s last year, in these appearances he managed a total of 2 goals and 1 assist which is not bad going at all for a defender. The young Dutch prospect is set to play for the u18s before hopefully managing to break into the first team and cement himself a place. It’s said to believe that Ki Jana Hoever attracted interest from lots of top English clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United and the reigning champions Manchester City before putting pen to paper at Liverpool. Ki Jana Hoever’s most comfortable position is at right full back and with the feeling that Trent Alexander- Arnold will move to his preferred central midfield role in the future it is possible that the vacant right back role may be given to Ki Jan Hoever. Ajax had been desperately trying to tie the youngster down to a new contract for a long time and were upset and disappointed at the prospect of him leaving which just shows how highly rated he was in the Netherlands. Another fact to note about Liverpool’s new signing is that he definitely can take a Free Kick or two scoring one for Ajax u17s last year!
The 16 year old wonder kid is definitely one to watch out for in the future and could make his first team debut as early as this season. The future looks bright though for Liverpool with the likes of Curtis Jones and new signings Bobby Duncan, Isaac Christie- Davies and now Ki Jana Hoever. It will be interesting to see if any of Liverpool’s youngsters can emulate the success of that of Trent Alexander-Arnold and make the big step up to the first team. Hopefully we’ll see lots of these youngsters in the future especially that of Ki Jana Hoever!
