In this article Adrian from @AnfieldPress talks about how Sadio Mané has turned out to be a bargain for the Reds.
On the 28th June 2016, Liverpool announced the signing of Sadio Mané from Southampton for a fee of £35 million. A lot of the fans thought that £35 million for the player was a heafty price tag and that Liverpool had over paid for the Senegal international. Sadio would be joining with three of his ex-teammates Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne.
Klopp was eager for Mané to make his first Premier League debut straight away, starting him against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Sadio did nit hesitate to impress scoring an impressive solo goal in 63rd minute splitting the Arsenal’s back line apart putting the Reds 4-1 ahead on the day. His debut goal proved vital for Reds with the final score ending 4-3. Mané also give the fans something to remember scoring 90+4′ goal against Everton away in the Merseyside derby.

Mané also impressed on his home debut for the Reds scoring against Leicester. For Sadio was putting thoughts on the fans minds, Klopp might of got one of the best bargains of the summer transfer window. Mané turned out to be a massive miss when the Africa Cup of Nations crept up in January. Stats had shown evidence of Mané’s miss, as the Reds failed to win a game in the league when Mané was missing from the line-up drawing against Sunderland, Manchester United and losing to Swansea City at home dropping a total of 7 points .
The speedster continued to impress the fans throughout the season scoring two goals against Tottenham Hotspur on his first home game back for the Reds then scoring against Arsenal for the second time this season. Also scoring against Everton at home but Mané’s excellent debut season for the Reds came to an end after a clash with Leighton Baines saw him out for the remainder of season.
Mané ended the season with an impressive tally of 13 goals and 5 assists in his debut season. I’m sure his impressive season would of change the minds of the fans that Sadio Mané had proved to be a marquee signing of the season for the Reds and a for a bargain price in today’s transfer market. As he proved to be a massive help for the Reds helping them push for a 4th place finish in the table.
Now with the addition of Mohamed Salah in the squad, he can provide more assists to Mané giving the Reds a extra push for the title. Sadio also impressed in the Audi Cup in pre-season scoring a great finish against Bayern Munich in a 3-0 win at the Allianz Arena.

Sadio has continued to impress the fans scoring in the first two games of the 2017/18 season against Watford and the first home game against Crystal Palace which the Reds had failed to beat in three Anfield meetings.
I’m sure every fan will agree Mané will score the Reds a lot of goals this season and be a massive threat in the Champions League should Liverpool avoid defeat in the second leg at home v Hoffenhiem on Wednesday.
