Nicknamed the Portuguese assist king, the Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins has been a regular feature for club with the reds now identifying him as there next target.

With Liverpool’s previous interests include Julian Brandt and Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to fill the role of the LW position while Mane plays on the right and Coutinho now playing a more central role. 

The Merseyside club have also targeted Roma’s Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah with a reported deal agreed with the player but the Serie A club stalling the move with no agreed price tag for the 24 year old.

Gelson Martin’s who began his youth career at Benfica before switching to Sporting is a 22 year old who bagged an impressive 6 goals and 9 assists, the most in the league, Earning him along with his current contract a £52 million buy out clause.

Martin’s is more popular for playing in the right but with competition from other wingers at Liverpool, would he feature much at Anfield?
