Following a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough in the final game of the campaign, Liverpool finished 4th therefore qualifying for next season champions league for the first time since the 09/10 season.
For obvious reasons many are excited to see the reds return to champions league football in a play off with one of these teams:
- Hoffenheim.
- CSKA Moscow
- Sporting
- Nice
- Young boys
- Viktoria Plzen
- Steaua Bucharest
- Club Brugge
- Instabul BB
And either POAK, AEK Athenss or Panathinaikos from the Greek super league.
Many of these teams could pose a threat to Liverpool’s champions league hopes. Sporting a very highly rated team in Europe who finish 3rd in the Portugese league and former Liverpool player Mario Balotelli would enjoy the satisfaction of ending there run with Nice. The Merseyside team also faced young boys in the 12/13 season in the Europa league with a 2-2 thriller.
Can Liverpool win the Champions league play offs and enter the final stages of the tournament or will they fall at the first hurdle?
