Today Crystal Palace took on Liverpool at Anfield in a very lively game. Liverpool were dominant throughout both halves but Palace leave Anfield with all three points after ex-Liverpool man Christian Benteke’s two close range goals seal a 2-1 win for the Eagles. The only highlight of the match was the moment of brilliance from Philippe Coutinho with a World Class free kick to make it 1-0 but unfortunately it counts for nothing now. After the game, we asked you to vote on the performance of each individual player and here’s our final combined match ratings for the Liverpool squad.

Starting XI:
Simon Mignolet- 6
He had an ok game today and made some decent saves but conceded two goals which he could have prevented.
Nathaniel Clyne- 7
He had a good game, made some brilliant runs down the right flank and also managed to keep space on the right for the palace wingers to a minimal. Lacks the end product though.
Dejan Lovren- 2
The worst performer tonight, terrible marking, didn’t make crucial tackles and was at fault for both goals. Seriously in doubt to be involved in next season’s starting XI.
Joel Matip- 6
He could have also helped prevent the first Palace goal but all round had a decent game. Still has many years to develop and looked good despite claims of an injury he sustained prior to the game.
James Milner- 5
He was ok in the game, managed to keep his tackles clean and showed experience when called upon. He isn’t a natural LB though so he isn’t at fault but made some obvious errors.
Lucas Leiva- 4
Lucas looked composed in the first half and did well with his defensive work. The second half let him down massively and he does still have some issues on the ball with his shooting and passing but he did ok.
Emre Can- 4
Very quiet today, not a lot came from him and when it did it wasn’t anything special.
Gini Wijnaldum- 5
He was the opposite of himself today, stayed well out of the spotlight and only had a couple moments in the game where he looked normal. Like Can, he barely showed up which isn’t like him.
Roberto Firmino- 6
He was fairly good today, made some excellent runs with Clyne down the right wing and came close to scoring today. He lacked the end product in the match though.
Divock Origi- 5
Origi wasn’t good at all today, when we needed him he didn’t step up and only had a couple of chances near goal. He was too hesitant when on the ball and that cost him.
Philippe Coutinho- 9 MOTM
What can I say, he was the Man Of The Match today for me. Scored a world class free kick in the first half, came close to grabbing a second before being denied a clear penalty and ran riot around Palace’s defence. Truly world class and I feel he couldn’t have done better.

Subs:
Marko Grujic- 2
He needs more game time but he got a yellow card when subbed on and didn’t do much.
Alberto Moreno- 2
An unexpected sub from Klopp, he didn’t make an impact at all and his time at Anfield is surely about to run out.
Trent Alexander-Arnold- 4
The kid is very promising and should have been swapped for Lovren after the first goal. He looked composed and for his age he was ok after being brought on late.
