A wet day at Manchester, and a fairly dismal result for the Redmen. A strong first half from Manchester City and a poor one from us still kept us alive in the first half. A much improved second half from Liverpool, saw Liverpool take the lead with a well crafted play, a lovely chip from Emre Can to Roberto Firmino, and then a strong clash on Firmino by Clichy. However, City were absolutely horrendous after the first goal, no energy at all, but Aguero did claim them a goal, and a vital point in the title race…
Simon Mignolet 7

To be honest, he didn’t have many shots coming at him, and we can’t blame him for the City goal.

Nathaniel Clyne 8

I just loved how Clyne played. He was brilliant at defending, and I’ve never seen him this defensive.

Joel Matip 8

Matip was brilliant. Solid at defense, brilliant on the ball too. But I’ve got to say, he’s got to improve attacking in corners.

Ragnar Klavan 7

Solid at defense, and was brilliant. Again, he’s got to improve when Liverpool take corners. We as a team need to improve when we take corners!

James Milner 8

Played in a completely different position today. Had a defensive stance throughout the whole match, and was really solid at left back.

Emre Can 8

After taking Henderson’s role, I don’t think he’s done any silly mistakes/errors at all, also have to give him credit for the penalty. He’s been solid in that position, and clearly deserves a new contract.

Georginio Wijnaldum 8

Not much to say, but was brilliant and he’s starting to show how much he’s worth.

Adam Lallana 7

Was going to give him an 8. But could’ve took the back pages by scoring the winning goal. What was that?

Sadio Mané 9 MOTM

Brilliantl as usual, and could’ve scored the winning goal. Gone into the books for a silly challenge, but deserves the MOTM trophy.

Roberto Firmino 8

Can’t say much about him. He did give us the penalty, but other then that, he only had a few chances.

Phillipe Coutinho 7

Still hasn’t done much, and needs to get back to “old Coutinho”

Substitutes:

Divock Origi

Lucas Leiva
A point is a point, and we will carry on for sure. City were really possessive during the whole game, brilliant 1-2’s, but Liverpool’s pressing game didn’t come much into favour.
