A lovely sunny day at Anfield, and a massive victory for the Reds. A nail biting end to it secured Liverpool all 3 points as they try to claim Top 4… A nervy first half saw Burnley go infront with a strike from Ashley Barnes, however Liverpool did strike back with Georgino Wijnaldum (after scoring against Arsenal last weekend he claimed another one today) During the second half, Liverpool were a completely new team, and a sweet strike From Emre Can saw Liverpool cruise to a victory
Simon Mignolet 8
Not much he could do, don’t think he could’ve saved Burnley’s goal. But defended corners brilliantly.
Nathaniel Clyne 7
Another good performance from the Englishman. As usual he was reliable and gave Liverpool the extra pace whilst attacking.
Joel Matip 9 (MOTM)
Perhaps his best performance in a red shirt. Couldn’t do much with the first goal but was strong physically and aerially.
Ragnar Klavan 7
Again, he didn’t do much. But did what he had to do. Was at fault for the goal we conceded but will certainly come back stronger.
James Milner 7
Not the same old Milly, but can’t blame him. If we play a team who play from the back then most certainly Milner won’t be too good.
Emre Can 8
His first half performance was not good. But became a leader in the second half, had brilliant vision and WHAT A STRIKE THAT WAS!!!! He came out as a new player. If his first half performance was better, then he would’ve received the MOTM.
Adam Lallana 6
Didn’t even know he was playing… He was completely invisible in this match and didn’t do much.
Georgino Wijnaldum 9
Two great performances in a week and 2 goals in a week. He has completely improved and is certainly becoming a fan favourite at Anfield.
Sadio Mané 7
Was decent. Had a brilliant chance to end the game, but didn’t. In the next 2 games Mané will have to step up and carry us.
Divock Origi 7
I have to give him credit for the goal… He’s not the best at crossing but did well to find Gini. Nethertheless, it was an average performance.
Phillipe Coutinho 6
SHOCKING… The worst performance from Coutinho. He only did 1 good thing in the game and that was when we scored. Didn’t do much.
Substitutions:
Ben Woodburn
Had a good run and had a big chance to end the game…
Lucas Leiva
UNLUCKEEE!! He didn’t get much time on the pitch.
