Liverpool was held to a 0-0 draw at Anfield vs Manchester United and it’s fair to say it’s a game that won’t be looked back on as a classic between Liverpool and Man United. Liverpool probably had the best chance of the game when a great effort from Coutinho was denied by an amazing save by David De Gea. Jose Mourinho had a plan of stopping Liverpool coming out the blocks quick and to quiet the Liverpool fans and make them frustrated and to be fair it worked. The first 10-20 mins Liverpool were finding it hard to pass the ball and find a lot of room in the midfield because United’s midfield was doing an excellent job of really making Liverpool panic with the ball. A plus for Liverpool was there two centre half Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip they were both really good at the back and had a good game and keeping Zlatan Ibrahimovic quite.
Loris Karius 5
Looked quite shaky but he is young and it was a big game for him he needs time to get used to the Premier League.
James Milner 5
Milner was once again working his socks off but didn’t really create much going forward. He was defending well and running up and down the left hand side really well.
Joel Matip 7
Joel Matip was really good at the back he was winning high balls and sticking tight to Ibrahimovic and doing his job well.
Dejan Lovren 7
Lovren was just the same as Matip both were excellent didn’t really put a foot wrong and they are forming a great centre back partnership.
Nathaniel Clyne 6
Clyne wasn’t really at his best but did his defensive job well but wasn’t too effective going forward.
Emre Can 4
Emre Can was really rusty last night but he’s been injured. He had a good chance at goal in the second half which was saved by De Gea.It was his first BPL start it will take time to find his full fitness but when he does he will be a key player for Liverpool.
Jordan Henderson 6
Jordan Henderson was ok last night he was doing a great job on Pogba winning the ball of him and winning a lot of tackles and playing a few simple passes but nothing to great but it was a decent game for Henderson.
Philippe Coutinho 8
Coutinho was the only player for Liverpool who actually looked a real threat going forward. A great effort saved by De Gea. Coutinho overall had a good game and was Liverpool’s best player.
Roberto Firmino 6
Firmino was ok he was working hard and trying to create but it’s hard to create when United play 10 men at the back.
Sadio Mane 5
Sadio Mane wasn’t at his best last night trying his hardest to try and create something for the Reds but it just wasn’t happening.
Daniel Sturridge 3
Daniel Sturridge was really poor last night. He wasn’t finding any spaces behind the defence he wasn’t moving for the team he looked very isolated on his own upfront.
Adam Lallana 5
Adam Lallana came on for Daniel Sturridge and when he came on Liverpool looked a lot more dangerous Lallana,Firmino and Coutinho were linking up really well.
Divock Origi N/A
Origi replaced Roberto Firmino and didn’t have enough time to really make an impact to the game.
Alberto Moreno N/A
