Wow that escalated quickly! Within hours of being a rumour to all, to being the subject of a medical in a couple of days? Georginio Wijnaldum arrival to Liverpool seems to be just around the corner to our latest reports.

Wijnaldum celebrates scoring four goals against Norwich in the 2015/16 campaign.

According to dutch tabloid and other sources around the European continent, Liverpool are more than favorites to sign Georginio Wijnaldum. In a fee said to be around £20million (which apparently is all we are offering/willing to pay) could possibly rise to £27million (what Newcastle want for the player).

The last time a transfer caught speed like this. Liverpool acquired the signature of Roberto Firmino for £29 million. If the last one worked out so well after acting this fast, then by all means, do it again please!

While having a couple of quiet weeks in the transfer window. Hearing less about players joining Liverpool and more sound on players leaving Liverpool. We now have two players on the brink of joining the mighty Reds in a matter of days. When I say it escalated quickly, I mean it!

A deal said to be completed sooner than that of the Wijnaldum deal was the deal to bring in Augsburg centre-back Ragnar Klavan. The Estonian captain completed his medical on Tuesday and has already been announced as a Liverpool player. The fee pronounced to be around the £5million mark. Hope to welcome the player soon!

Now back to Wijnaldum. When I think of this player, all I think is close-ball control, a decent finisher and a lot of pace.

If you consider how well Mane has done in the past few warm-up games, you have to be excited about the arrival of this young man. He is not far from Mane and can offer the same threat up front for us.

He can too, play across the entire front-line of the midfield and is more than capable of giving the next player a run for his money. Healthy competition for the players was always needed. A definite addition that will add quality and not just quantity.

Wijnaldum is a real talent and will hope to impress at Liverpool

People said he and Mane were inconsistent from time to time last season, but if you ask me, that all can be corrected by Klopp over time. Rome wasn’t built in one day, but all their soldiers were trained together, and then they conquered over time.

All signs we adding players where we need to. Hopefully the fee/asking price doesn’t halt our transfer committee (apparently they drive a Belgian bargain for players now a days)

We are adding the goals to our attack, with the few we have, who were regularly on target fixed together with these players like Mane and Wijnaldum, we would have added goals from almost every position.

We knew for time now, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and so on, add a little to the goals per season ratio. If we adding quality this is what is needed.

We’ve had runners, box to box midfielders, but far and few between have their been goals all-round the pitch.

When the likes of our so called “Go to guys” are sleeping or missing in a game, we will have others who can come to the party naturally.

The fee? Well Man City paid £50million for Raheem Sterling and Wijnaldum scored more than him the season past.

Im not complaining at all!
