But Liverpool should look no further than their current squad for answers.

To add to his case, Ngumoha has bagged a total of two goals along with two assists, proving why he is Liverpool’s future Left-Winger. Liverpool head coach, Arne Slot, believes this as well. Ahead of Liverpool’s match against Crystal Palace for the Community Shield trophy on Sunday, Slot was asked about Ngumoha. Slot said during his press conference on Friday, “Rio showed in the last few games that at the senior level he can make an impact.”

With Cody Gakpo ready to replace Luis Diaz and the emergence of Rio Ngumoha, is it really necessary for Liverpool to aquire another left winger? Such an acquisition looks good on paper. Who wouldn’t want a world-class player on their team? The problem is that such an acquisition would send a message to Gakpo, indicating he is not the guy moving forward, alienating him from the team. Most importantly, such a move would make it difficult for Ngumoha to carve out a pathway into the starting XI. Even if Liverpool were looking to add depth to the position, Slot could turn to recent acquisitons, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
