As anticipation grows for the start of the 25/26 Fantasy Premier League season, I thought I’d take a look at some Liverpool player prices for the upcoming season. With a few new faces at Liverpool, and some new to the league, there’s likely to be plenty of excitement around the prices for the Reds. I’ve picked out the five players I expect to be most popular in FPL this season, explained my thinking behind their prices, and included a full prediction list of the squad prices for the upcoming campaign.
Mohamed Salah
24/25 Price – £13.5m
25/26 Predicted Price – £15.5m
Unsurprisingly, I suspect Mohamed Salah will be the highest-priced player in FPL 25/26, and potentially the highest-priced player in FPL history. Last season, that crown was taken by Erling Haaland, who was priced at £15m before delivering 10 goals and 63 points in the first five games. But between GW8–20, Salah returned 14 goals and nine assists, amassing a quite ridiculous 147 points. He went on to bag 29 goals and secure 18 assists, earning him 344 points – the highest return ever in FPL. In 23/24, Haaland scored 217 points, which resulted in a £15.0m price tag, so what will they do with the record-breaking Egyptian King this season?
In my opinion, he has to be £15.0m at the very least. FPL won’t want a situation where he’s 200% effective-ownership every week again, so they need to give him a high enough price tag to tempt people into going without him. He is, of course, still on penalties, and Liverpool have strengthened over the summer with the signing of Florian Wirtz, as well as the bombing fullbacks Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, who will increase Liverpool’s attacking threat.
Despite turning 33 in June, Salah seems to be getting better, and I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see him notch another 50 goal contributions in all competitions this season. I think Salah will be given a £15.5m price tag – making him the highest-priced player in FPL history – and hopefully tempting some managers to go without!
Florian Wirtz
24/25 Price – N/A
25/26 Predicted Price – £9.5m
The biggest transfer of the summer is undoubtedly Florian Wirtz’s £116m move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool. Wirtz registered 122 goals and assists in 197 appearances for Leverkusen and was included in the Bundesliga Team of the Season in three of the last four years, as well as being named Bundesliga Player of the Season in 2023/24. His attacking threat, the quality of the side he plays in, and the hype around him will all drive up his price tag, and I expect FPL to price him between £9.0m–£10.0m.
He doesn’t have penalties, and we’re unsure yet whether he’ll take corners or free kicks – and we also don’t have a clue where he’ll play! I think he’ll be very highly owned at the start of the season, and many will opt for Wirtz instead of Salah for the significant savings it offers.
Jeremie Frimpong
24/25 Price – N/A
25/26 Predicted Price – £6.5m
Frimpong is another exciting signing for Liverpool this summer and has a very high ceiling in FPL. He’s scored 19 goals and provided 24 assists in all competitions across the last two seasons for Leverkusen, operating almost as a right winger in Xabi Alonso’s system. He won’t play in that role for Liverpool, but he definitely has the potential to provide a significant attacking threat.
However, I don’t think he’s necessarily nailed on to start every game due to Northern Irish international Conor Bradley, who has shown he has the ability to play at the highest level. If Frimpong nails down the starting RB role, he could make an absolute mockery of a £6.5m price tag – but I’d be surprised if they push him up to the £7.0m that Trent began last season at.
Milos Kerkez
24/25 Price – £4.5m (Bournemouth)
25/26 Predicted Price – £6.5m
The Hungarian left-back arrives with a serious engine and a reputation for being both defensively solid and offensively fearless. He created 36 chances last season at Bournemouth and ended the campaign with the third-most open play crosses in the league, amassing a total of eight attacking returns.
With a move to a much more dominant side like Liverpool, those numbers could rise dramatically, with the added benefit of much higher clean sheet potential. I suspect a £6.5m+ price tag will put some people off in the early parts of the season, but in my opinion, he’ll be a much better pick than Frimpong.
Anything less than £6.5m, and he’s going to be a lock in everyone’s GW1 team – so I hope FPL do the right thing and price him at £6.5m.
Luis Díaz
24/25 Price – £7.5m
25/26 Predicted Price – £8.5m
Luis Díaz ended last season as the fifth-highest scoring midfielder, registering 13 goals and 7 assists. He was overlooked by many throughout the season but provided excellent value as a £7.5m route into the attack of the champions.
As the season progressed and Cody Gakpo grew into his role on the left, Díaz spent more time in the number nine position and was undoubtedly a better asset than his starting price suggested. If the Colombian stays at Liverpool this summer, I’d expect him to match his contributions from last season – with the added support of one of the world’s best playmakers in midfield. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t get a rise from last season’s starting price – so I’m predicting he’ll come in at £8.5m.
There are plenty of intriguing price decisions for FPL to make with the Liverpool squad, and I expect that many will be looking at double or maybe even triple-ups from GW1! There are also some potential bargains in players like Harvey Elliott – who may well end up in different colours come the end of the summer.
