Pereira at the Helm

Vítor Pereira took over the reigns at Wolves following the sacking of Gary O’Neil, he’s took 10 points out of a possible 24 so far and dragged Wolves out of the relegation zone. Expect Wolves to line-up with 5 in defence with the intention of absorbing pressure and playing on the break with direct passing. They come into this one in good form winning their last two games. Aston Villa failed to win at Molineaux last match week, Wolves the 2-0 victors with only 31% possession.

Cunha’s Campaign

Matheus Cunha has 11 goals and 4 assists so far this campaign. The 25 year old Brazilian was tipped to leave the black country in January but nobody would meet his £65 million evaluation. Arne Slot is an admirer stating in his pre match press conference, “Cunha is a quality player. He has the ability to play for one of the top five teams in England.”

FA Cup Shocks and 14-1 scoreline

The last time Liverpool lost to Wolves at Anfield was in 2017. A hungry Wolves, side then in the Championship, won 1-2 against a heavily rotated Liverpool side knocking the reds out the FA Cup. You have to look back to 2010 for the last time Wolves won at Anfield in the Premier League. Since their return in 2018 they have never scored a point at Anfield. Liverpool have won all 6 ties with an aggregate score of 14-1. The reds came away 1-2 victors earlier in the season, thanks to a winning penalty scored by Mohamed Salah.
