A gusty Goodison Park will host its final rendition of the Merseyside derby Saturday lunch-time. Form never matters when it’s Everton vs Liverpool, the Toffees will be eager to cause an upset on Liverpools charge to league title 20.

Sean Dyche hasn’t got Everton playing expansive eye catching football since his arrival at Finch Farm, but he has added much needed stability to a team that were at one point relegation favourites. The Blues sit 5 points clear of the drop at this stage, with 3 wins, 5 draws and 6 loses. Goodison has played its part on its farewell tour, 2 of their 3 wins have come at home, they’re unbeaten at home in their last 5.
Everton have 5 clean sheets in the league only 2 less than Liverpool on 7. Away drumming’s 4-0 to Manchester United and Spurs makes harsh reading for their goals conceded. However, they’ve only conceeded 2 goals in their last 5 home games. Mohamed Salah will need to unlock an organised Dyche defence, he’s scored 7 career goals against Everton, only Steven Gerrard has more for Liverpool with 9.

Last season Everton won their first derby at Goodison since 2010 against a Liverpool side low on confidence after losing to Crystal Palace and being knocked out of the UEFA Europa League a few days prior.
However, this Liverpool side is a new beast hungry to avenge shortcomings. Mohamed Salah, seemingly inevitable at the moment, scored twice in a 1-4 win here in December of 2021. Tis’ the season Mo?
Michael Keane’s return is uncertain due to a minor knee ligament injury. Youssef Chermiti is progressing but not ready yet, while Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner are still a bit off full fitness but are working on their recovery.
Arne Slot will be missing Alexis MacAllister for the upcoming game, as the Argentinian is serving a suspension after receiving his 5th yellow card of the campaign against Newcastle United. Alisson Becker remains unavailable, alongside Federico Chiesa, who featured for the Reds’ U21s for an hour on Wednesday, and Diogo Jota, both are nearing a return to action. This leaves only Ibou Konate, Conor Bradley, and Kostas Tsimikas as the long term absentees.
