Dominik Szoboszlai captained Hungary against Germany in the final night of the UEFA Nations League. Hungary trailed 1-0 into the late stages off the game, until referee Duje Strukan was sent to the VAR monitor for a possible handball inside the area by German defender Robin Koch. The referee pointed to the spot and Dominik Szoboszlai stepped up with a cheeky panenka penalty, straight down the middle to earn Hungary a point.

Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo were both used substitutes in a 1-1 draw for the Netherlands against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Virgil van Dijk did not feature after returning home from international duty early. The Dutch had already wrapped up second place and could no longer mathematically secure top spot in their group.

It was CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifier action in South America. Darwin Nunez played 45 minutes for Uruguay, before being subbed off against Brazil in a 1-1 draw. Boss Marcelo Bielsa didn’t confirm if it was a tactical switch or an injury concern for our Uruguayan.

Alexis MacAllister started for Argentina at home to Peru. They debuted a new classic kit featuring the old Trefoil Adidas logo. Argentina saw out a 1-0 victory, MacAllister was substituted in stoppage time.
