Darwin Nunez’s Uruguay hosted a Colombia side captained by none other than Luis Diaz in a CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifier last night. Both Liverpool stars played the full 112 minutes, the lengthy additional period due to VAR checks. Colombia levelled the scoreline to 2-2 in the 96′ minute. However, Uruguay would find the net again in the 111′ minute to win the game 3-2. The win ends Uruguay’s barren run of 8 games without a victory. Uruguay now sit 2nd in the table on 19 points, Colombia sit 3rd only trailing Uruguay on goal difference.

Andy Robertson captained Scotland against Croatia at Hampden Park. However, Ben Doak was the man of the match. His menacing run into the Croatian box resulted in an effort on goal. Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Kotarsk could only parry the effort, the subsequent rebound landing at the feet of John McGinn who dispatched the chance for an 86′ minute winner. Securing a 1-0 victory, Scotlands only win in the UEFA Nations League thus far.

Wataru Endo captained Japan in a 4-0 victory over Indonesia in their World Cup Qualifier. Former red Takumi Minamino was amongst the scorers, Japan are undefeated in their last 9 games.
