Andrew Robertson’s Scotland took on Croatia last night in the UEFA Nations League. After taking an early lead the Tartan Army went onto lose 2-1 but not without controversy. Che Adams bundled in a late equaliser in additional time only for it to be ruled out by VAR for a marginal offside. Liverpool loanee Ben Doak impressed for over an hour before being subbed off.
Portugal got the better of Poland in a 1-3 victory. However, Diogo Jota is still unfavoured over the aging Cristiano Ronaldo who’s form for his country continues to impress. Diogo was introduced after 63 minutes to help secure all 3 points and managed one shot off target. Portugal and Scotland will face off at Hampden Park on Tuesday evening.
Conor Bradley captained his country for the first time on only his 20th international cap for Northern Ireland against Belarus. The Reds full back will go down as the youngest captain in their history at 21 years, 3 months and 3 days old. Yesterday’s game took place in Hungary at the ZTE Arena due to UEFA restrictions imposed on the hosts. Bradley showed promise and Northern Ireland dominated the XG at 1.15 to 0.35. Yet, the game played out to a 0-0 draw.
England kick off at 17:00 and the Republic of Ireland are in action tonight at 19:45. England look to bounce back away to Finland, with Curtis Jones absent after returning home early from the England camp. The Republic of Ireland play away in Greece, Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to start.
