Braces from both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota meant for what was a comfortable three points away from home in the end for The Reds as they extend their lead at the top of the table to five points, beating Bournemouth four goals to nil.
It was the home side who started the game stronger, holding most of the possession but were unable to create any significant chances and failed to test Alisson between the sticks.
As the first half progressed, Liverpool began to control the game but also came short in creating threatening chances at goal with a long ranged effort from Alexis Mac Allister being the only effort to challenge Neto in goal.
Nunez fired The Reds in front early into the second half after Jota slotted the Uruguayan through on goal where he placed the ball into the bottom right of the net to go 1-0 up.
Jurgen Klopp’s substitutions once again proved impactful as Cody Gakpo went onto assist Jota who powered the ball into the near post to make it a two goal advantage in the 70th minute.
It didn’t take long for the Portuguese number 20 to get his second of the night, striking the ball perfectly into the bottom, far corner despite a bad first touch. An assist for Connor Bradley topped off what was a perfect first Premier League start for the young wing back.
A long, whipped ball from Joe Gomez found Nunez in the centre of the six yard box in the 93rd minute, who poked it home on his first touch to bag his 10th league goal of the season and his 101st of his career.
A strong Liverpool performance against an in form Bournemouth side without the likes of Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold shows the rest of the league that they’re strong contenders to lift the title come May.
